Things have been both slow yet a bit stressful around here. We've begun to settle in, yet I feel like nothing much has changed from our life in Brighton. We're low on furniture, so there are still unpacked boxes and we are still sleeping on our sofa bed.
I'm still stuck at home most days with not much to do. The Little Sausage is a full time job and I can't leave her alone for more than a few minutes without her following me and wanting me to walk with her or pick her up. It makes going to the bathroom a mission! I have had a couple of job interviews but since we won't hear until September whether or not we have a place at the local child care centre, it makes things pretty difficult to schedule or plan around. Until I know if she's in or not, I can't accept any jobs... It's frustrating.
The Frenchman had a 3 day weekend just this last week past and we took some time out of the city and went home to my in-laws. A pick-your-own farm was close by and we spent a sunny afternoon picking raspberries, apples, strawberries, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes. It's both fun and nutritious! I can't wait for the Little Sausage to get into it properly when she's old enough.
Also, I've fallen in love with fresh goats cheese rolled in freshly chopped chives. It's tangy and creamy and I love to spread a big blob of it onto a fresh baguette. Yummy.
In other news, the first trimester of my studies is over and I'm yet to receive my final grades. It's been really good to get back into study but it's really hard to get work done with the Little Sausage around. For the final assignments I had to send her to her grandmother for a couple of days to get things done! Hopefully I can find more time if she gets a place at child care.
That's all for now, not much else to tell really...
